About My Practice

As a therapist

I honor each person as a unique individual with their own story, strengths, and needs. I believe the soul has a natural capacity to heal — my role is to provide the safe, supportive space that allows that healing to unfold.

My approach is compassionate yet active. I partner with you to transform self-defeating patterns into powerful allies for health, resilience, and balance. In our work together, I welcome and value open conversations about the impact of racism, discrimination, and other systemic injustices on your mental and physical well-being.

I am committed to creating a space where all aspects of your identity are respected and where you feel seen, heard, and understood. As a compassionate listener, I consider it an honor to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and wholeness.

You’ve already taken the first courageous step toward change. Contact me today to begin the next steps of your path to wholeness.

My practice

My psychology practice is grounded in the wisdom traditions of the Earth and supported by the latest research in psychology and neuroscience. My work blends ancient insight with modern therapeutic science to guide your healing journey.

My approach is fundamentally psychodynamic — also known as depth psychology or post-Jungian therapy — and is deeply informed by attachment theory and body–mind integration. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) / Parts Work

  • Somatic therapy and mindfulness practices

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • EMDR for trauma healing

  • Dream work, imaginal work, and nature-based therapy

With nature as our guide, body–mind consciousness as our process, and secure attachment as our goal, we will work together to create meaningful, healing experiences in the present moment. Over time, you will gain the tools and confidence to continue this inner work on your own, feeling more whole, balanced, and connected.

I am deeply devoted to helping people reconnect — to themselves, to others, and to the natural world. My work is rooted in compassion, deep listening, and the belief that healing is possible at every stage of life.

With over 20 years in the health and wellness field — and more than a decade running my private therapy practice in Ojai, California — I have supported adults and adolescents in creating meaningful, lasting change. My background is rich and varied: I have been a naturalist, educator, and social worker; worked with rural South African communities on development projects; studied ancient wisdom traditions; and led wilderness rites of passage.

I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and wrote my doctoral thesis on the Archetypes of Ecopsychologists. I have provided psychological care to my community for over two decades: I have taught Ecopsychology to PhD students at Pacifica Graduate Institute, worked in psychiatric hospitals and clinics, facilitated equine-assisted therapy and now attend to my private practice. My approach blends clinical expertise with nature-based and body–mind healing practices.

As someone who has personally healed from chronic illness, I understand the complex relationship between mind, body, and spirit. I have a special interest in supporting people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, and chronic illness — whether you identify with one or all of these experiences.

I am honored to be a trusted referral source for local physicians, UCLA doctors, psychologists, and other professionals in the mental health and wellness fields. Outside of my practice, I am a parent, a spouse, and a lifelong learner, guided by the saying: “Physician (psychologist), heal thyself.”
